Wednesday Reflection

After learning about vodcast/podcasting today, I have come up with some good ideas for how they can be used in my classes. The vodcasts would be a great thing for me to do for visual concepts in biology that students struggle with. I would love to create vodcasts for processes like DNA replication or Photosynthesis that I could post on my moodle page and students could access as a study tool at home.
I am also seeing how easy all of these tools are to use. I have stayed away from a lot of these technologies just because I thought it would be overwhelming to use, but I am encouraged with how simple the tools we are using have been to learn.

  1. The hardest part of teaching technology is convincing everyone that these tools are not that scary or challenging or unattainable. You've done some good work and are well on your way to a successful implementation. Good luck!

That's the exact moment that made a Web 2.0 convert out of me. I thought that hand-coding pages was the way to go because it gave me geek cred or something. It was only after stumbling on some of these technologies that I realized how easy my life could be with them.

    Thanks for a great reflection.
