Friday Reflection

I plan on taking what I have learned this week about web 2.0 and sharing with the others in my department. Most of the teachers in my department are open to using new ideas, but like me, a little overwhelmed with exploring them on their own. I now feel more confident in my ability to try new things, and I'm looking forward to sharing what I have learned. I am also planning on discussing the use of google docs with my principle. It seems like a no brainer to me that this tool would be perfect for most school applications.

With colleagues who aren't as excited about using web 2.0 technologies as I am, I plan on inviting them to see how I have used it and how it is working for me once I get everything going.

For the rest of this summer, my goal is to get my classroom moodle page up and running. I am going to be doing some training for it at school in August as part of a committee I am on, so I will probably wait until then to get going on it.

This past week has really helped to build my confidence in using technology in my classroom. Although I don't believe that technology is the sole solution to reaching the Net Gen students, Teachers can definately do more to reach students by purposefully using technology in school.
